Dark red tubular firecracker-like flowers with yellow interiors are produced above the top of an upright clump of dark green, wedge-shaped leaves. Late spring to all summer blooming time attracts hummingbirds all season long. This genus requires good drainage to thrive, so do not plant in areas with standing water.
