DIGITALIS purpurea DALMATIAN SERIES ‘Dalmatian Purple’
Foxglove
height: 2-3′
spread: 1′
zone: 4
habit: erect
Lilac-purple flowers w/maroon spotted throats.
This fast-growing, first-year flowering perennial foxglove ranked high due to its strong growth habit, floridity, and pure colored flowers. Foxglove prefers acidic, moist, well-drained soil that is enriched with humus. Digitalis forms large rosettes of downy, green, oblong leaves from which numerous flower spikes emerge. It looks especially nice when planted along fences, at the wood’s edge, or in large containers.
